BAS has an increased focus on working with SMEs in regional and rural areas due to the large disparities between development of regions and Chisinau. Currently the number of managed projects is divided 54% / 46 % between regional and Chisinau BAS beneficiaries and BAS is increasing its regional presence.

A special attention is paid to the development of non-agricultural businesses in rural areas and/or high value added agriculture related businesses. Out of 24 projects located out of Chisinau 42 % are non-agriculture related businesses, such as furniture, medicines, cosmetics production, electronics, as well as construction services.
BAS Programme (Business Advisory Programme) is a programme managed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and financed by ETC.
